Jharsuguda: Vedanta Ltd. Jharsuguda has partnered district administration in setting up and management of the 150 bedded COVID-19 Hospital planned at Jharsuguda.This is in line with the state govt.’s directions to create specialized isolation and treatment facilities in all districts of Odisha, which will have all necessary equipment, gears, medicines and infrastructure to handle the highly infectious disease.
Vedanta is providing ventilators, other medical equipments, medicines, reagents, housekeeping staff, security personnel, medical personnel and other manpower for management of the said hospital. The company has procured surgical caps (6000 nos.), goggles (6000 nos.), N95 mask (3000 nos.), triple-layer mask (3000 nos.), surgical gown (2000 nos.), apron (2000 nos.), Corona Kit (3000 nos.), oxygen concentrator (2 nos.), optimo-compressor nebulizer (5 nos.), piston-compressor nebulizer (5 nos.), ventilators (6 nos.), sufficient quantities of alcohol-based sanitizers and medicines like Paracetamol and Azithral, and 150 beds, mattresses and pillows for the operation of the said hospital.
Speaking about the partnership, Mr. CN Singh, CEO – Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda said, “Vedanta is working closely with the Jharsuguda district administration for management of the district’s COVID-19 Hospital. We stand with the state govt. and the people of Odisha in the fight against COVID-19.”
Besides that, Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda is also providing N95 masks (3000 nos.), triple layer masks (3000 nos.), Oxygen concentrators (2 nos.) and hand sanitizers to the COVID-19 Hospitals at Bhubaneswar. The company’s CSR arm is engaged in sensitization of masses in Jharsuguda’s rural margins for prevention against COVID-19, as well as production and distribution of masks to the high-risk and underprivileged people in the district. As the situation is rapidly developing, Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda is committed to extend additional support to District Administration as per the need of the hour.
