Dhamra: Adani Foundation – the CSR arm of Dhamra Port Company Limited has been working for ensuring the livelihood enhancement of community in its periphery. As the part of ensuring the goal, the Foundation has been working with the fisherman community who are the major stakeholder of the locality. Conducting various skill oriented, safety and security training of these community has been the core intervention of Adani Foundation. The foundation is undertaking these activities in collaboration with District Forest, Fishery, and Marine Police department by imparting various skill development activities and basic facility support in time to time. It also takes the help its Marine department who are very closely associated for the development of this Fisherman Community.
Considering the background, a day long disclosure meeting in collaboration with the District Forest department – Bhadrak, Marine Police – Dhamra, Marine department – DPCL, Dhamra and Baitarani Balichara Maschyajibi Sangha – Chandinipal, Dhamra was conducted at Chandinipal today the 30th October 2019 by CSR team of Adani Dhamra Port.
A brief description of function of Dhamra Port and how the operation of fisherman community business is having the correlation with each other was discussed in detailed. To ensure the safety of 200 fishermen, who are plying 50 small boats for fishing were supported with 200 life Jackets.
The programme was graced by Ms. Purnima P, DFO – Chandabali, Mr. Srikanta Pati, Marine Police – Dhamra, and Capt Ajit Narayan Mahapatra – DPCL Marine Department. The meeting was moderated by Mr. Amar Kumar Jena, Gayadhar Nayak and Ashok Giri of Baitarani Balichara Maschyajibi Sangha – Chandinipal.
