Adani Foundation holds SuPoshan Vatika (Nutritional Garden) Training programme

Dhamra: One day capacity building and technical knowledge sharing training on development of SuPoshan Vatika has been organized by Adani Foundation, Adani Dhamra Port held on 18th December 2019 at Dhanakuta village of Karanjamal GP. There are 38 participants including 11 SuPoshan Sangins, 5 Anganwadi workers and 22 mothers of SAM and MAM children were actively participated in the training. The thematic experts were facilitated the training by Gobardhan Pradhan, Executive Director, SAN wetlands and Debendra Roul, Program Manager, SAN wetlands.

The chief objective of the programme to sensitize the participants as to the importance of raising a nutritional garden to curb malnutrition and meet micronutrients needs of families living in peripheral villages of Adani Dhamra Port.

The programme conducted on demonstration of vegetable seed bed preparation by the participants, seed treatment and explained the use of Package of practices in different stages of crop cycle. Seasonal and off seasonal vegetable cultivation, discussion on seed harvest technology and preservation of produces theory also demonstrated. A discussion was also conducted about the raising household’s incomes through this Suposan Vatika programme.
