Dhamra: Swachhagraha, a Behaviour Change Education Programme, is an initiative of the Adani Foundation. ‘Swachhagraha’ draws inspiration from ‘Satyagraha’ led by Mahatma Gandhi during the freedom struggle movement, which catalyzed action through tremendous patience and perseverance, instilling in the Indian mind, dignity and self-respect. It aims at engaging people towards ‘Creating a Culture of Cleanliness’.
Swachhagraha is being implemented at various levels. The first being the School Intervention Programme. Today we have reached to more than 5700 schools spread across 19 states with more than 80000 active Swachhagrahis. Nationwide, the programme was launched in the year 2015 and has come a long way since then, currently having 202 schools on board at Bhadrak and Dhamra. A handing over and felicitation event was held in Bhadrak, Odisha on 25th, September, 2019 at Sanskruti Bhawan, Bhadrak with participation of over 158 schools in the event. Mr. Sangram Keshari Sahoo, DEO, Bhadrak has presided over the event as Chief Guest. Among the other dignitaries, Mr. Sambhunath Panigrahi, BEO – Bhadrak, Mr. Saroj Kumar Sahoo, District Science Supervisor, Bhadrak, Mr. Padyuman Ray were also present.

Ms. Srimanjali Kar of Bhaktabrahmapur Project Up School, Ms. Rajni Khatun of Chadak Mohalla UGME School and Ms. Debishree Nayak of Olanga UP School from Bhadrak and Mr. Jishnu Janma Das of Balisahi Project Up School, Mr. Bijayananda Samanta of GP High School, Karanpali and Ms. Subhadra Pal of Sukchanmanna Govt UP School, Koithkola were awarded with three best Swachhagrahiessays writer.Mr. Aditya Pravanjan Pradhan, Mr. Subham Das and Ms. Archita Nayak from BhadrakandMs. Chinmayee Mohapatra, Mr. Soumya Ranjan Burman and Mr. Pravat Kumar Maity from Dhamra were awarded as the three best Swachhagrahi students.Mr. Harbhajan Das, Mr. Soumya Ranjan Burman and Mr. Sriman Swoyam Sahu were the 3 best winnersfor SafaikeSitare campaign receive momentous and certificates from Adani Foundation.
Mr. Sangram Keshari Sahoo said, “The Swachhagraha project is perfectly aligned with the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’. At the heart of this project is the idea of ‘creating a culture of cleanliness’ in the upcoming generations of India.” Mr. Satya Ranjan Mishra, CSR head conveyed a special message from Mrs. Shilin R. Adani, Trustee who is an architect mentor of this project; congratulating all the winners and stakeholders for their contribution to project and wishing the best for their pivotal role.
