New Delhi: 4700 employees of Dalmia Bharat Group – one of India’s leading conglomerates have voluntarily dedicated their one day’s salary – collectively amounting to ₹ 1.6 crores to fight COVID-19 pandemic that has crippled most of the major economies across the world. The contribution is being made to the PM-CARES Fund, a dedicated national fund with the primary objective of dealing with current emergency situation.
Earlier this month, in its humble bid to contribute to a national cause, Dalmia Bharat Group had committed ₹ 25 crores to the PM-CARES Fund as part of its endeavour to assist the government’s massive efforts against the pandemic. The group has already dedicated their
Schools, playgrounds, guest houses and technical centres across plants as facilities for tackling Covid 19 cases. The canteens of the Dalmia Bharat plants across India are currently being used to prepare food for local distribution in the regions.
Besides contributing monetarily, the employees are working closely with the local administration in supporting people, across all locations where they are present by providing PPE’s, essential medicines, ration, grocery and accommodation. A large number of food packets are being distributed by them through the local Municipalities to the needy and homeless near their plant locations.
