Bhubaneswar: 14 killed, several injured amid Holi celebrations in Odisha. As many as 14 persons were reportedly drowned while taking bath after the festivities in separate incidents in Odisha on Tuesday.
Three men drowned in the eastern state’s Rayagada district while taking a bath after Holi celebrations in Kenduguda dam at Gunupur block.The dead have been identified as Suresh Chaudhary, Abhishek Kumar and K Barun Achary of Padampur in the district. In Cuttack district, two teenaged boys drowned while taking bath in the Kuakhai River after Holi revelries. Subham Kumar Behera and Nishant Padhi, Class 9 students of Kendriya Vidyalaya. A woman drowned in a canal near Rangabazar area on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. Similarly, a student of a private school in Bhubaneswar drowned while taking bath along with five other friends in Mahanadi river near Naraj today.
Another man also drowned in the Mahendratanaya River in Rayagada. Two people were also reported missing in the same district.Another youth from Niala village under Aul Police Station in Kendrapara also drowned while taking bath.
