Lanjigarh, 11th February, 2019: To spread awareness on health and sanitation practices, Vedanta Limited, Lanjigarh, in partnership with the partnering NGO Punaruthan Voluntary Organization (PVO), under the National Health Mission, organized a De-worming Awareness Session at Belamba village.
The session was conducted by Mr. Paresh Kumar Jena, Community Manager – Vedanta Hospital, Dr. Prashant Kumar Swain, Vedanta Hospital and Ms. Jayanti Sahu, ANM member – Batelima who guided the villagers to follow the best practices in sanitation and how to avoid preventable health issues. The session was followed by a “Hand Washing” program, where Ms. Jayanti Sahu imparted practical training on proper techniques to eliminate germs and prevent diseases.
Present on the occasion were Mr. Misbah Uddin Khan, Assistant General Manager – HSE, Dr. Akshaya Kumar Sahoo, Chief Medical Officer, Ms. Sabita Majhi, Sarpanch – Batelima, Ms. Sweta Upadhayay, Deputy Manager – Community Development, Mr. Kishori Saha – Anganwadi ward member, Kapaguda along with officials and employees from Vedanta Lanjigarh including over 20 women and Child Care Centre children.
