The chief minister is likely to seek special assistance from the Centre to develop disaster-resilient power infrastructure and housing projects in coastal districts as Odisha is hit by cyclones almost every alternate year. CM Naveen Patnaik may also seek special category status for Odisha and ask for a funding pattern of 90:10 for the Centre and state, respectively, in the centrally-sponsored schemes for Odisha on a par with the northeastern and the Himalayan states. The revision of coal royalty and more allocations for railway projects are among other issues which may figure in the meeting.

The Chief Minister, during his week-long stay in the national Capital, will also attend the 5th meeting of the Governing Council of the NITI Aayog on June 15 and is scheduled to return to Bhubaneswar the same evening.
