Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik greeted OPTCL’s 200 new recruits

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik greeted Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited’s 200 new recruits hired through the transparent Computer Based Test. In the last 7 years, 1431 professionals have been hired in multiple disciplines like IT, HR and Electrical with 290 more set to be hired this year.
He stated power sector in Odisha is growing at a fast pace led by Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited, furthering efforts towards State Government’s mission of ‘Electricity for All’.
Highlights from Chief Minister’s address at the event:
• OPTCL has consistently proven itself in difficult situations like restoration of power after cyclone Phailin & timely completion of Nabakalebara projects
• State Government has entrusted OPTCL as nodal implementing agency with state funded projects worth over ₹10,000 crores
• Transmission availability of OPTCL now at 99.96%, highest in the country for which OPTCL received Gold Shield in 2012-13 and 2013-14
• Transmission infrastructure to be doubled by 2018 as compared to 2000 to provide robust transmission network in Odisha
Chief Minister Patnaik lauded OPTCL for taking up massive recruitment drive to acquire highly motivated and talented personnel and wished the new recruits all success their career.
