Odisha: 31 OFS probationers visit Smart City office

Bhubaneswar: Thirty-one probationers along with their four faculty members from Odisha Finance Service (OFS) from Madhusudan Das Regional Academy of Financial Management, today visited the office of Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) and Bhubaneswar Operations Centre (BOC) on an exposure visit.
The OFS probationers were briefed about the various projects under Smart Solutions, Area Based Development and Socially Smart Project. BSCL General Manager Saroj Kumar Swain and respective consultants spoke on the projects.
Later the OFS probationers also attended a special session on various aspects of Finance Management within the Special Purpose Vehicle (BSCL) including budgeting, treatment of grants, share capital of the promoters, receipt and expenditure, preparation of annual accounts, auditing, role of internal audit, statutory audit and compliance audit by AG (Odisha). The session was conducted by BSCL Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Arabinda Routray.
Later the probationers and their faculty members visited the BOC facility and got to know how the city operations were controlled from the control room and what the future plan of the facility is and what are to be added to its fold for the better service delivery for the citizens.
