Honda organises ‘Road Safety Convention 2018’ in Bhubaneswar; Over 1.5lac individuals educated on road safety in the state of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Taking a further initiative on #HelmetOnLifeOn, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. today conducted ‘Road Safety Convention 2018’ for school principals in Bhubaneswar. Over 200 School Principals participated in the Road Safety Awareness Training to enhance safety awareness in the society through school students.

Honda 2Wheelers India takes road safety as top priority to ensure safety for everyone. The motive of this training program is to inform school principals that Road Safety is a national concern through Honda’s awareness training module. The conference was followed by demonstration of two safety trainings – Primary Training Activity & CRF50 Activity for kids & role play safety activities by kids.

Aimed to provide ‘First of its kind’ training on road safety to the principals of various schools, the initiative was conducted in the august presence of Shri. Nirmal Chandra Mishra, Collector & District Magistrate, Khordha, Mr. Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President, Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. and other officials from the district office and Honda 2Wheelers India.

Speaking on this unique initiative, Mr. Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President, Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “As a responsible two-wheeler manufacturer, Honda is fully committed towards road safety & has so far educated over 21 lac Indians. We firmly believe that children are the nation builders of tomorrow and so our aim is to nurture them as safety champs. Teachers are the guiding lights for the student. Honda offers refined guidance to them on road safety with this initiative. In fact, our traffic training park in the city welcomes the teachers too for safety activities so that they can motivate young students with appropriate lessons on road safety and safe riding.”

The convention consisted of various unique activities like role play activity by the students. Group of students demonstrated primary riding training and CRF50 activity to help them understand the way kids are trained at Honda’s Road Safety & Traffic Training Park in Bhubaneswar.

Honda also conducted a School Bus Safety Workshop at Road Safety & Traffic Training Park, Bhubaneswar under its integrated activity umbrella for all traffic training parks across the country. Besides teaching the significance of safe habits to school students like proper boarding, de-boarding and appropriate behavior inside the school bus; activities like School Bus Safety Quiz & drawing competitions were organized. Honda declared the winners as ‘School Bus Champions’, rewarding them with attractive prizes.

With such efforts, Honda aims to ‘Catch Them Young’ to become ‘Safety Champs’ in all aspects of road safety -starting as a pedestrian to a rider.

Road Safety & Traffic Training Park in Bhubaneswar
Honda inaugurated the Road Safety & Traffic Training Park in Bhubaneswar & Cuttack in 2014 and has since then, educated over 1.5 lac individuals- both children & adults in Odisha. Awarded with exclusive rights to conduct safety awareness program with the support of Transport Department, Honda also trains license applicants here under the Road Safety License Applicant Training Programme.
