New Delhi: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has opposed the action of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in West Bengal by raising it in Lok Sabha on Monday.The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Bhartruhari Mahtab has said in the Lok Sabha that CBI has not been functioning well.
It happened in Odisha ahead of panchayat elections in 2017 in which the saffron party tried to defame the Conch party by engaging CBI. This unprofessionalism, while we want the investigative body to be professional, said BJD leader Bhartruhari Mahtab during Zero Hour in Lok Sabha. Mahtab cited the example of Odisha in his address and claimed that the central investigation agency was also misused by BJP during the last panchayat election for political benefit.
Mahtab said the CBI seems to be bereft of professionalism the manner in which it is functioning in the past couple of months. He said we are a living in a matured democracy and professionalism must be maintained by the country’s top investigating agency.
