Bhubaneswar: Odisha bid adieu to Goddess Durga following the mega idol immersion ceremony on Tuesday.
Amid music and dance the idols were taken in a procession for immersion across the State today. Idol immersion procession of Goddess Durga begins in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar. Specials arrangements were made by the puja committees, the Cuttack and Bhubaneswar administrations as well as the Commissionerate Police for the immersion ceremony.
This year, at least 170 Mandaps have come up in the Cuttack city, of which 70 have invoked deities of Goddess Durga and the remaining pandals are worshipping the idols of Lord Shiva. Like every year, the pandals are decorated with colourful lights, welcome arches and many of them have lined up different cultural programmes everyday during the evening hours to attract the revelers.
