Seven districts in Odisha may receive heavy rainfall, SRC asks collectors to be ready to meet all eventualities

Bhubaneswar: Seven districts-Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Bhadrak & Ganjam may receive heavy rainfall. The weather department said that the rain will continue to the batter the State for the coming 24 hours.

SRC asks collectors of these districts to keep administrative machinery ready to meet all eventualities . District administration of Gajapati, Ganjam announces closure of all schools in view of heavy rainfall in the region. Water level in Jalaka River crosses danger mark of 5.5 metre near Mathani, touching 6 metre by 9 am; river level reportedly rising 0.10 metre every hour .

Several low lying areas in Twin Cities of Cuttack & Bhubaneswar witness acute waterlogging following spells of heavy rainfall; normal life affected & vehicular traffic hit .
