Radha Mohan Singh says Odisha not informed about Onion distress sale, assures hike in Minimum Support Price of paddy

New Delhi: Union Agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh assures hike in Minimum Support Price of paddy; says cabinet to take decision this time. He said this after meeting with a Delegation of Odisha BJP met him at krushi Bhawan New Delhi.
BJP delegation discussed about the onion distress cell and slow implementation of various Farmers welfare scheme . Over Onion distress sale Union Agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh says Odisha has not informed the Centre about the issue.
It should be noted that farmers in the western Odisha are facing problems like distress sale of onion and lack of proper market even after sufficient production of onion in the region. In districts like Balangir, Kalahandi, Nuapada and Deogarh, farmers are even forced to sell onion at Rs 5 per kg.
