Bhubaneswar: CM Naveen Patnaik writes to Union Finance Minister N Sitharaman, requests exemption of GST on purchase of Covid-19 vaccine & financial assistance to states from cess & surcharges collected by Centre. CM said that it will reduce cost for the states & facilitate drive towards universal vaccination.
CM also urged to suitably share additional resources raised through various cess, surcharges on petrol, liquor, etc which are available exclusively to GoI. CM said it will strengthen the COVID19 fight including provision of vaccinations, free treatment & preventive measures.
