Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel approves opening of 4-5 big steel plants in Bastar region

Raipur: On Sarpanch Sangh’s request, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has approved setting up of 4 to 5 major steel plants in Bastar for development of the region. Establishing these plants in Bastar region would create better employment opportunities for local youth. Delegation of Sarpanch Sangh from Dantewada today paid courtesy call on Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel at his residence and handed over memorandum with the demand to establish industries in the region. Chief Minister approved their demand and said that Shaheed Mahendra Karma Ji always wanted Dantewada and Bastar to have major industries. As per his vision, we would develop Bastar region. On Sarpanch Sangh’s demand, State Government would initiate establishment of 4 to 5 major steel plants in the region.
After handing over the memorandum to establish steel plants on the 500 acre land available in Ghotpal-Heeranar area of Geedam block, the delegation told Chief Minister that no land acquisition from farmers would be required for setting up these plants. Delegation members further told that iron ore found in Bastar region is transported to other areas. Establishing major plants in Dantewada, Kanker, Kondagaon and other locations would create better employment opportunities for the local youth. Besides, with establishment of these plants, various other subsidiary industries would also come up, further generating employment for youngsters. This would also promote hotel and transport sector, largely benefiting the localites.
In their meeting with Chief Minister today, the Sarpanch Sangh delegation praised the efforts of state government to preserve Devgudi, the faith center of tribal people in forest areas. During the discussion, Chief Minister also took information about the implementation of Godhan Nyay Yojana. Sarpanchs told that the payment against dung procurement has proven beneficial in this time of corona crisis. Villagers are happy to earn profit from cow dung. Vermicompost manufacturing is also being done in gothans.
Chairman of Sarpanch Sangh Mr. Anil Karma told that construction of gothans is underway in all the gram panchayats of the district. Besides, dung procurement and vermicompost manufacturing work has also started under Godhan Nyay Yojana. He informed that the old buildings are being renovated to open shops and provide self-employment opportunities to local youth at gram panchayat level. Meanwhile, Sarpanch of Mopalnar, bade Surokhi, Nangul and Godhpal gram panchayats were also present.
