MCL wins 4 national awards for excellence in PR

Sambalpur: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited under Ministry of Coal (GoI), has bagged four awards for excellence in Public Relations from the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) at 13th Global Communication Conclave held at Jaipur yesterday.
Mr Manas Ranjan Pattnaik, Office Superintendent-A1 and Mr Chitta Ranjan Nanak, Sr. Translator (OL) from Department of Public Relations, MCL, received the honours at 9th PRCI Excellence Awards Ceremony from Mr Sunil Arora, Chief Election Commissioner in the presence of Mr HK Dua, veteran journalist and former Member of Parliament.
MCL’s radio advertisement to fight against corruption bagged the Gold prize, while table Calendar based on children’s creatives and public service advertisement on the vision of Mahatma Gandhi won Bronze titles.
An initiative of PR to communicate through cartoons a message on importance of integrity at workplace by producing a Wall Calendar received the special Appreciation Award at the ceremony.
The Public Relations Department of MCL has been a regular winner at national level competitions with new initiatives in communication and public relations.
There was over 200 odd participation from government, public and private sector organisations for 9th PRCI Excellence Awards.
