Sambalpur, April 3, 2018: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) DAV School Ib Valley, Brajrajnagar, won the 9th Inter-MCL DAVs Dance Competition 2018, beating eight competitors in a close contest to lift the annual trophy.
“Vibrant India” was the theme of 9th inter-MCL DAVs Dance Competition 2018, which saw the creativeness and raw spirit for excellence among the school children. The contesting teams presented their thoughts on “Vibrant India” through the art of dance using the LED backdrop prop.
“The performances of the students were of professional standard and happily surprised to see the young talent,” remarked Mr A K Jha, Chairman & Managing Director while giving away the prizes to winners.
The CMD, along with Dr Nisha Thakur, president Jagriti Mahila Mandal, presented the trophies to the winners and the runners-up and the content, which was judged by independent outside jury.
While MCL DAV SOCP (in Ib Valley Coalfields) bagged the second prize, the third prize was won by MCL DAV Dera (in Talcher Coalfields)
Earlier, Mr L N Mishra, Director (Personnel), MCL and Chairman Advisory Committee, MCL DAV Schools delivered the inaugural address.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included former CMDs of the company Mr A R Sharma, Mr S R Upadhayay and Mr A N Sahay, Mr J P Singh, Director (Technical/Operations), Mr Munawar Khursheed, Chief Vigilance Officer, Mr O P Singh, Director (Technical/P&P), vice-presidents of Mahila Jagriti Mandal Ms Paramjit Kaur, Ms Madhoo Mishra, Ms Padamja Singh and Ms Padamini Vasudvan.
