XUB is gearing up to present its very first edition of Xamboree , Badshah, Aastha Gill to join

Bhubaneswar: The Cultural Committee of XUB is gearing up to present its very first edition of Xamboree – XUB’s Annual Management-Cultural Fest, to be held on the 4th, 5th and the 6th of October 2018. The first of its kind, a motley of diverse individuals will come together for music, art, theatre, literature and business events, which shall put to test their intellectual, oratory, artistic, creative skills and business inclination. It is an opportunity for diverse schools, offering post-graduate management and other ancillary courses, to get a forum to showcase their talents; and to compete fiercely amongst each other. This is the platform to inspire and be inspired.
A myriad of exhilarating events is lined up with loads of exciting prizes to offer.
Pre-promotional events have already begun with the Festival being launched on 25th August. It involved the energetic performances of the students of various schools under XUB, an enthralling start to the event. This was followed by a Tree Plantation drive, where the administration along with the students planted saplings and spread awareness about the importance of fostering a sustainable ecosystem.
Events like Pratibha and Blood Donation camps are scheduled before the three-days extravaganza begins. Xamboree incorporates the spirit of Magis, and aims at making a societal impact, while giving a stage to multi-faceted individuals to showcase their mettle.
The first day will witness stage events, including ‘Dhwani’, a platform for all those who have dedicated their hearts to melody. ‘Runway Roll’, a fashion show would follow suit, and is expected to leave behind a thought-provoking impression on the audience. Along with these there are business events, planned by Xavier School of Rural Management, Xavier School of Sustainability Management, Xavier Center of Urban Management & Governance, and Xavier School of Commerce, like Gladiator, Proact, Urbrainiac, and Skill city, which are an amalgamation of management scenarios prevailing in the real world. It provides a real-world experience in an exciting and engaging environment. It also includes Business Buzz, a business plan competition. The MUN (Modern United Nations) will also commence on the first day of the fest. A Handicraft Stall will be put up in the campus for all three days of the fest where the work of our precious Mess Staff will be on sale.
Day 2 will comprise of ‘Sonix’, a battle of bands, followed by Dhwani’s finale. Chakravyuh is one of the very few business games that apprise the participants as to what lies ahead once their management education is over. The Social Responsibility Cell of XUB along with X-Seed, the entrepreneurship cell, is providing the students a platform to present their business models, and the forum is aptly named ‘Samriddhi’. ‘Shristi’, a photography competition will also be conducted by X-lens, the photography society of XUB, for the visual enthusiasts. XIMAHR, the students’ association of Xavier School of Human Resource Management, will be organizing a problem-solving simulation called Case In point. A workshop will be organized for the Literature Lovers by the famous Scribbled Stories.
The final day will start with Tamasha, the street play competition, talking about issues which plague our society, followed by Footloose, an event dedicated to all the dancers. Viraasat, an opportunity where the XUB chapter of SPIC MACAY celebrates the culture of our past and present, will also be held on the last day along with an inter college social entrepreneurship competition, Spardha. The grand finale will be Celeblitz, a musical fiesta by the most sensational rapper in the country – Badshah, accompanied by the very talented Aastha Gill.
This 3-day extravaganza promises to be an eventful and unique experience for everyone who believes in the power of the students, through their medium of expression, are steering the winds of change.
