World Environment Day celebrated at NTPC Talcher Super Thermal Power Station, Kaniha

Kaniha: The World Environment Day was celebrated at NTPC Talcher Super Thermal Power Station, Kaniha on 05.06.2017. To commemorate the day, Environmental Pledges in English Odia and Hindi were administered by Sh. A.K.Tripathy GM(O&M),Sh.N.Acharya,GM(Maintenance) and Sh. A.K.Jana,GM(Fuel Management) respectively. Sh.A.K.Tripathy GM (O&M) conveyed the message of Director (Operation) on this occasion.

Shri Tripathy in his address he emphasized to adopt all possible steps to conserve natural resource for the future generation and urged to take all possible steps to keep the mother earth clean, beautiful & pollution free. He also urged upon to solve the environmental issues by implementing some positive environmental actions. He further stressed upon to take all possible steps to conserve Flora Fauna and specially plant operation, in line with the WED theme 2017. Later Environmental Awareness Walk was organized to create and spread awareness about conservation of nature followed by Mass Tree Plantation. About 150 trees were planted at Stage II Township on the occasion.

The station has planned to undertake 50,000 plantations during in the FY 2017-18. Environment Awareness related competitions on Drawing, Essay, Slogan & “Best out of Waste” were also organized on this occasion for various groups of participants.

The programme was also graced by the presence of Sh. N S Rao, GM(TS),Sh. H. K. Dash GM(C&M) , Sh. K. Sharma,AGM ( HR) , other senior, officials of NTPC Kaniha, Members from Tanvi Sangam, representative of Unions & Association, CISF personnel. Employees of Talcher Kaniha & their family members & children from different schools participated in large numbers in these programs and made it a grand success.
