New Delhi: Well-known industrialist Vishnu Hari Dalmia passed away

He was lately ailing and was receiving treatment at the Apollo Hospital. He passed away at his Golf Links residence at the age of 90.

Born on 17 January 1928, Vishnu ji was the eldest son of Shri Jaidayal Dalmia, the founder of the Dalmia Bharat Group. As the scion of Dalmia Group of industries, Shri Vishnuji’s life was replete with accomplishments and was symbolic of the forward and futuristic thinking, way ahead of the times he lived in.

It is a well-known fact that his vision for India as the true Bharat was exemplary. He was one of the senior stalwart members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), and served at various posts in the organization.

He was the former International President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad for 13 years (1992 – 2005) and was the Vice President of Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan, Mathura. He has played a critical role in shaping India and was also a member of Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s central advisory board called the Kendriya Margdarshak Mandal. Currently he was in the advisory board of VHP.

He was a well-known industrialist and led Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited from 1981 – 86. During his tenure in function, the group saw a multi fold growth under his leadership. He was a source of guidance and inspiration to the entire group.

He lived and breathed strong cultural values till his last and was instrumental in shaping the architecture of an independent India and his good work will continue to live through the many that have been associated with him.
