A Watch for All Seasons- Rolex Oyster Perpetual

Watches have long been used forever for aesthetics and practical purposes. For some people, it is just a device to tell time while for other people it’s a symbol of status and achievement. Watches have been around since almost 14th century, they have improved remarkably since then. It has become almost a competition to create the most elegant, simple and astounding watch. It started from a simple time telling device which has now grown to a mini computer wrapped around your wrist.

Nothing completes your outfit better than a watch, but you don’t just want an old timepiece adorning your wrist. Chances are if you are one of those people who don’t go out without a watch, you want something that speaks to your personal style and gives a personal statement, a face made from sturdy and polish metal and a band made from comfortable or high-end leather or fabric. They are not just to keep track of the time. It is more of a reflection of one’s personality and individuality. Those who are all for the personal style and statement, choosing a perfect time piece for themselves is a top priority for them.

The only watch which fits the title is Rolex Oyster Perpetual. It isn’t like any other watch brand in the world. The privately held, independently run entity isn’t like most of the other companies. Being a Rolex customer for years, I can say this with a lot more clarity than any other person. Rolex is itself a universe of its own. Respected, admired, valued and known all over the world. There aren’t a lot of brands that are on its level. Sometimes, it’s hard to believe that Rolex just makes watches thinking about all that Rolex is and does.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual is Rolex in its purest form. The name sure is an overly floral collection name but it’s taken from its origin. The first part of the name, Oyster, refers to the first ever Rolex made Water and dust proof watch. While the second part, Perpetual refers it the self-winding movement Rolex invented back in the day.

Features:

The purpose of the article is to give you the inside look of Rolex Oyster Perpetual and the features that it comes with

  • Waterproof

The name Oyster Perpetual is a symbol itself of waterproofness. It is a guaranteed waterproof watch to a depth of 100m. The watch is thoroughly tested through the pressure treatment, in which the case is put in an air tank and if the pressure in it changes at all, then it means the air has leaked into it. Each watch is individually tested.

  • Oyster lock Clasp

It is designed for professional models to prevent an accidental opening of the clasp, which is patented by Rolex. It delivers absolute comfort and reliability because it features a sophisticated snap-fit lever system. Just like the water test, it passes through a drop test as well.

  • Paraflex

Rolex develops a Paraflex, a highly efficient shock absorber, in case the watch is dropped. It increases resistance and is designed to protect sensitive components of the movements. It increases shock resistance up to 50%.

  • Perpetual Caliber

Being a part of the name, we already know how important this feature is. The Explorer is equipped with Perpetual Caliber which is a self-winding movement entirely developed by Rolex. Its architecture, accuracy and precise movements makes it very reliable.

  • Superlative Chronometer Certification

Superlative Chronometer Certification shoes that the watch has gone through a series of tests conducted by Rolex in its own laboratories, which exceed watchmaking norms and standards. This certification is symbolized by a green seal which comes with the watch and shows that it has gone through the same test and is coupled with international 5-year guarantee.

Conclusion:

I don’t believe in the concept of ‘one and only watch’. If you are even a little bit like me, you’ll always find a better watch and have your eyes on your next favorite but if it was for one and only watch, Rolex Oyster Perpetual would be a very good choice to go with. Of course, that’s if you are willing to live without a date display and a transparent back only. If so, then this watch goes with every outfit, every occasion for the rest of your life.
