Bhubaneswar: On 11th July Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain, AVSM, VSM Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, Visakhapatnam visited Sainik School Bhubaneswar. Since after he has taken over as the LBA Chairman of the school it was his first official visit to preside over meeting with the State Government officials. Vice Admiral Jain is an alumnus of Sainik School Rewa, NDA Pune, The Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, Ooty, College of Naval Warefare Mumbai and the National Defence College Pretoria, South Africa. He was commissioned to the Indian Navy on 01 Oct 1982. Under the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, the Eastern Naval Command extends naval support on the shoreward of A.P, Odisha, West Bengal, Tamilnadu, Island chain of Andaman and Nicobar. On his arrival the senior cadets of the school extended him a spectacular Guard of Honour in presence of Air Marshal JN Burma, RADM Deepak Kapoor, Cmde KS Noor, Gp Capt S Dominic Rayan, Principal, Sainik School Bhubaneswar, Wg Cdr Amitabh Ranjan, Vice-Principal, Cdr N Santhosh Kumar, Administrative Officer, Shri Akhileswar Mishra, Headmaster DM School, Shri Amitabh Swain, President OBA, Shri Pritish Basa, Shri GK Todkar, Senior master, officials of NCC, Staff and cadets. Later Vice Admiral Jain inaugurated an ‘Obstacle Course’ for the cadets’ SSB Training and other important venues of the school. In his interaction with Class-XII cadets Vice Admiral expressed his happiness as the cadets are well motivated to join Armed Forces. He advised them to make the best use of the available resources at the school and join Armed Forces in large numbers which can bring glory to the State of Odisha. He assured the school fraternity that his office shall extend all necessary support and ensure Sainik School Bhubaneswar rises to greater heights in forthcoming days.
