Bhubaneswar: On 12th Jan 2020 Vice Admiral AK Chawla, AVSM, NM, VSM, ADC, Flag Officer in Commanding, Southern Command and an illustrious alumnus of Sainik School Bhubaneswar visited his alma-mater after thirty three years.
On his arrival Gp Capt S Dominic Rayan, Principal, Sainik School Bhubaneswar extended him a warm welcome in the presence of Cdr Pritika Sharma, Administrative Officer, Wg Cdr Amitabh Ranjan, Staff and 600 cadets. On the arrival of Vice Admiral the senior cadets of the school extended a spectacular Guard of Honour in his honour. During his visit he offered homage to the 15 gallant martyrs at the war memorial of the Sainik School.
In his address to the cadets he remembered his nostalgic moments of his past as a Sainik School Cadet. He advised the present generation cadets never ever to forget the sets of people like parent, teachers and all those who help in our life. He too emphasized that it is due to the grooming of the school above 600 alumni could join Indian Armed Forces as Officers and nine of them could rise to the positions of three star generals.
Vice Admiral appealed to the cadets to make best use of the available resources in the school and join Indian Armed Forces.
During the ceremony Vice Admiral Chawla commanded Wg Cdr Amitabh Ranjan, Vice Principal and Shri Sidheswar Nayak, Faculty Cum PRO of the school for their dedicated service, professional skills and relentless service to the society.
