Lanjigarh : Vedanta Limited, Lanjigarh received the Kalinga Safety Award – 2018 at the 9th Odisha State Safety Conclave (OSSC) 2018 held at the New Marrion, Bhubaneswar in the silver category for excellence in safety practices under the Alumina Production Industry category.
The award was received by Mr Misbah Uddin Khan, Associate General Manager on behalf of Vedanta Limited, Lanjigarh from the Chief Guest, His Excellency Prof Ganeshi Lal, Governor of Odisha. Present during the occasion were Mr Abasara Beuria, President – Odisha State Productivity Council, Dr R P Singh, Secretary General – Quality Council of India, Director of Factories and Boilers, Odisha – Mr KamalenduMohapatra and MrDebabrata Panigrahi, CEO and Convenor – OSSC 2018.
The OSSC was a two-day event where the platform presents the industry and technical companies and experts with varied sessions and interactions that covers topics on safety. More than 200 attendees were present including various leaders from major mining and construction industries, industrial experts and eminent guests witnessed the prestigious ceremony.
Kalinga Safety Award is considered to be one of the most prestigious awards in India that recognizes exceptional contributions made by organisations in different categorieswith the objective to award industries who have displayed optimum excellence in their safety practices over the last one year. The award appreciates outstanding contributions in improving productivity, Occupational Safety, Health, Environment and working conditions as well as quality and safety of products and services made by an organization.This year the theme of the conclave was ‘Smart Safety Towards Vision Zero’.Speaking over the recognition, Mr. Misbah Khan appreciated the fervent efforts put in by the employees at Lanjigarh along with the partner agencies in their contribution towards a safe culture in the plant. He further reiterated Vedanta Lanjigarh’s continuous commitment towards creating a Zero Harm environment.
