Lanjigarh: Vedanta Ltd., Lanjigarh has been accorded with the Kalinga Safety Gold Award 2017 for excellence in safety practices under the Refinery category at the 8th Odisha State Safety Conclave held at Hotel The New Marrion, Bhubaneswar.
The award was received by Mr. Bimalananda Senapati, COO and Mr. M.U. Khan, Head HSE on behalf of Vedanta Limited, Lanjigarh from His Excellency Hon’ble Governor of Odisha Dr. S.C. Jamir. Present during the occasion were Mr France K. Morule, South African High Commissioner to India, Smt. Anu Garg, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Labour and Employee State Insurance, Govt. of Odisha, Mr. Avneesh Singh, Director, Director General Factory advisory Service, Govt. of India, Mr. Debabrata Panigrahi, MD, IQEMS and Mr. Vinid Kumar, IFS(R), Chairman OSSC – 2017.
Kalinga safety award is one of the most coveted and prestigious awards in India that recognizes outstanding contributions made by the organisations in different categories. This year the theme of the conclave was ‘Safety is a culture, not only compliance’. Speaking over the recognition, Mr. Senapati congratulated all the employees of the Lanjigarh unit and its partner agencies for their contribution towards improving the safety culture in the plant and reiterated commitment towards taking a step further to continue the company’s excellence as a zero harm unit.
