Vedanta Hospital flags off cataract surgery campaign at Lanjigarh

Lanjigarh: In its bid to provide better health services in and around Lanjigarh, Vedanta Hospital, in association with its health service facilitator NGO Punaruthan Voluntary Organization (PVO) and Lepra Mahanadi Eye Hospital, Sonepur organized a free cataract surgery screening camp at its premises. The second phase of the campaign was flagged off by Mr. Rakesh Mohan, COO – Vedanta Lanjigarh and Mr. Phillip Campbell, Director – Technical in presence of Mr. Grant Durling, Chief Safety Officer, Ms. Harmeet Sehra, Chief Community Development Officer, Dr. Akshaya Kumar Sahoo, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Saroj Kanta Mishra, Dr. Debendra Narayan Sahu from Lepra. The camp targeted over 35 patients from nearby villages such as Bandhapari, Batelima, Belamba, Bhataguda, Boringpadar, Chanalima, Chhatrapur, Harekrushnapur, Kutendeli, Lanjigarh, Leptaguda, Mushanal and Raghunathpur etc. who were also provided with the blankets during the occasion.

Wishing for a better health to all the patients, Mr Rakesh Mohan reiterated Vedanta’s commitment for the noble cause and expressed that the company takes pride in being a part of various community development initiatives and going forward shall keep up with the Good work with much vigour. Among others, present during the occasion were senior officials of Vedanta and Hospital staff members together with family members of the beneficiaries. It is noteworthy that over 320 patients have already been treated in earlier phases of cataract surgery campaigns organized by the company.
