Bhubaneswar: Department of Psychology, Utkal University observed World Mental Health Day at the Gandhi Park, on its own campus. Prof. Soumendra Mohan Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor inaugurated the programme. Students of Anthropology, Psychology and Zoology presented street play in group related to prevent suicide.
After presenting Street Play by the different group related to suicide, Prof. Patnaik share that only by happy and relaxation mood, the mental health will be nourished. He hope the programme will certainly nourish the mental health of the students.
Prof. Bhaswati Patnaik, HoD, Department of Psychology thanks to the students of the department who organize the programme in a wonder way in a short interval. Observation of the day aims to raise awareness regarding mental health issues and mobilize efforts to support mental health among the students . World mental health day theme for 2019 is suicide prevention She shared that due to vacation, the day was not observed on 10th October. Art and quiz competition was also conducted on the topic and prize distributed at the end by Vice-Chancellor. Culture programme also conducted during the programme.
