Bhubaneswar: Utkal Alumina International Ltd., an unit of Aditya Birla Group in Kashipur Block of Rayagada district is committed to preserve and promote tribal folk dance “Dhemsa”. The company has been organizing this unique Dhimsa Dance Festival since last five years and it received overwhelming response from amongst the villagers of the periphery.
This year also, the company organized AmaNrutyaAmaSanskruti on 14th and 15th March, 2018 at Nuapada Township. As many as 19 teams from the peripheral villages participated in a competition in the first day of Dhimsa Dance Festival i.e. on 14th March. Addl. SP Rayagada Mr. Y Jagannatha Rao attended the program as Chief Guest in the presence of the Unit Head – UtkalAlumina, Mr. N. Nagesh. The Chief Guest, Mr. Rao applauded the organization’s effort to preserve and encourage the local primitive folk dance. The Unit Head, Mr. Nagesh while speaking to the audience assured the community of the organization’s commitment towards their overall wellbeing.
On the second day, the District Collector & Magistrate, Mrs. Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar attended the program as Chief Guest while PadmashreeGobardhanPanika attended as Guest of Honor. MrsGuha addressing the audience, has applauded the efforts of a corporate house like UtkalAluminain promoting the culture of the society.She also hopesthat this effort will find hidden talents who will further exhibit their dance in the district and state level. Last year also the team which stood first here exhibited their dance at the District level festivals in Rayagada and Sundargarh. Padmsree Shri Panika also lauded the efforts of the company and said that such type of cultural activity will definitely encourage the local artists. Mr. N. Nagesh said that,Utkal Aluminais always committed for all round development of the community.The company will accelerate suchefforts in the future. DFO Rayagada who was Hon’ble Guest on the occasion also appreciated the efforts of Utkal Alumina.DyDirecror Mines Korapt Circle Mr. Banara who attended as a guest told that Utkal alumina while doing mining also gets involved in society very much. PA ITDA Rayagada, MrMuralidhar Swain also addressed the gathering and applauded Utkal alumina in this effort and also praised companies cultural involvement with society. Mr. Rakesh Mishra, AVP Administration, CSR and Land & Legal welcomed the Guests as well as encouraged the local artists for their participation in the mega cultural extravaganza.On this great occasion PadmsreeGobardhanPanikawas felicitated by the company. The Collector RayagadaMrsGhua offered a shawl& citation for his contribution. On the second day, dance troupes from SwarSagar, Rayagada; Mrunmayee Cultural Society, Bhawanipatna and T & D Dance Institute, Tikiri performed colourful dances for the audience. Senior Govt. officials and Executives of Utkal Alumina participated the programme along with their family members. More than 5000 people witnessed the two days programme. The CSR &Administration team of Utkal Alumina coordinated the function effectively.
