Union Ministers Arun Jaitley, Dharmendra Pradhan to inaugurate Odisha Parba tomorrow in New Delhi

New Delhi: ‘Odisha Parba 2017 will be kicked off from tomorrow in New Delhi. ‘Odisha Parba 2017’ will showcase the magnificent hues of Odia Art, Culture & Culinary.
Union Minister Finance, Corporate Affairs & Defence Arun Jaitley will join the inauguration ceremony as Chief Guest. Shri Dipak Mishra, Hon’ble Judge, Supreme Court of India and PNG Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will the event as Guest of Honours. Inaugural Ceremony will be held at 5:30 pm on 29th April, 2017 in India Gate.
Grand Spectrum of Rich Heritage & Vibrant Ethos of the Odisha will show cace from April 29 to May 1 at India Gate Lawns, New Delhi. Exhibitions, Handloom & Handicraft Haat, Authentic Odia Cuisines, Varied Folk Dances & Music Performances to Imbue Visitors with Joie-De-Vivre.
52 ft high replica of Rath used in Puri Rath Yatra (Car Festival) will be displayed just inside the entrance gate. The replica will be made to look exactly similar by using same materials, body part, steps and processes as used in the original.
A replica of the Mountain Caves of Udayagiri will be erected at the site to provide the backdrop for the stage & a spectacular multi projector – projection mapping film on Odisha and its spellbinding charm.
Sand Art by Padm Shri Sudarshan Patnaik. A workshop will also be conducted which is sure to inspire the upcoming talents of National capital to learn about this globally acclaimed art form.
Twenty Folk, Odissi, fusion, contemporary dance & musical performances presented by likes of Padm Shri Aruna Mohanty, Padm Sri Jitendra Haripal, Prince Dance group, etc.
A dedicated eatery enclave which will serve authentic Odia cuisine consisting of mouthwatering snacks, world famous Odia sweets, veg and non-veg thali including a variety of sea food. Many of these food items will be novelties for the gourmets of the cosmopolitan National Capital.
A well decorated Bhagbat Tungi will be on display. An exclusive stall will be set up for counter selling of the Jagannath Bhog.
‘Hasta Shilpa Haat’ – the handicraft and handloom section in the festival will be the treasure trove of famed Odishan artifacts, sculptor and famous textiles. The high point of this haat will be live demonstration of various art forms like pattachitra paintings, shell crafts, stone crafts, famed appliqué work, stone work, sambalpuri sari weaving etc by master craftsmen and weavers.
