Bhubaneswar:Union minister Vijay Goel tenders apology on Twitter over posting of photos of sanctum sanctorum (Garbhagriha) of Lingaraj temple. Goel today withdrew the images tweeting that he had by mistake tweeted the pictures and did not wish to hurt anyone’s sentiments following controversy over posting of photos of sanctum sanctorum (Garbhagriha) of Lingaraj temple in Odisha wishing the people on the occasion of Utkala Divas yesterday.
The Union Minister had tweeted three photos mentioning that those were clicked during his trip to Bhubaneswar last year. Two of the photos featured him offering prayer to the deity at the Garbhagriha.
Yesterday on the occasion of #UtkalaDibasa, I had by mistake tweeted pictures of the Lingaraja Temple from my trip last year. I did not wish to hurt anyone's sentiments and therefore, I am withdrawing the tweet/images.

However, cameras, mobile phones and other recording devices are not allowed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, following which controversy erupted with sharp reaction from opposition parties.
