Two day Korea festival to start from 25th November at Gurugram

New Delhi: A two day Korea festival showcasing Korea’s rich art, culture and heritage will take place on 25th and 26th November, 2017 at Ambience Mall, Gurugram. Organised by Korea Tourism Organisation, the two day extravaganza aims to showcase various aspects of Korea’s legacy and popularize South Korea as a favourite destination among Indian travellers.
The Korea festival is an initiative by Korea Tourism Organisation to acquaint Indian audience with famous South Korean tourist destinations, delicacies, art, culture and the country’s heritage. The festival will not only have live food counters (managed by Korea Agro Fisheries and Food Trade Cooperation) to give a taste of the local Korean flavours to serve Indian taste buds but will also feature experiential attractions like face and mask painting, Hangeul calligraphy, video gallery displaying Korean history and cultural assets.
While live stage performances at the festival by Korean artists such as Nanta (non-verbal performance) and B-boying (by Gambler Crew) will enthral the audience, the K- Beauty zone by famous Korean beauty brand Innis Free will be giving free make up sessions and free samples to the visitors. A special Virtual Reality zone and Photo Opportunity has been created for the visitors where they can visualise South Korean destination beauty and click their photos wearing Korean Traditional Hanbok dress.
The festival will also witness participation from Regional Tourism Boards of South Korea and related organizations such as Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, Gimhae City, Busan Metropilitian City, Busan Tourism Organization, Jeollabuk Do, Gwangju Metropolitan City, Gwangju Convention & Visitors Bureau, Incheon International Airport Corporation and Visit Korea Committee exhibiting popular tourist destinations. Key Indian travel agents and airline partners of KTO (Asiana Air, Korean Air and Air India) will be offering best on the spot travel deals to the buyers.
Announcing the two days Korea Festival, Mr. Min Min Hong, Executive Vice President, Korea Tourism organisation (KTO) said, “It is my great pleasure to host the Korea Festival for Indian market travelers. I am confident that this festival will have a lasting impression in the hearts and minds of Indian people and they will be able to connect with Korean culture more closely.”

He further added “Korea is one of the most colorful countries in the world because of its 4 distinct seasons. This winter season in February we will host the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.”

Speaking on the Korea Festival 2017, Mr. Jong Sool Kwon, Director Korea Tourism organisation (KTO) said “Korea is emerging to be an attractive destination among Indians at present. Indian outbound travel to South Korea is also on the rise. The influx of Indian tourists to Korea recorded in 2016 stood at 72,781 excluding crew numbers and is expected to increase in the near future.”

He further added, “We are bringing the leading Korean tourism bodies and travel partners under one single roof at the festival to facilitate large scale information sharing and awareness among people on popular tourist spots in Korea. Besides, Korea Festival will also exhibit the nation’s vibrant cultural colors. This is a great medium for audiences of a nation to witness the grandeur of another country. Korea offers a unique amalgamation of tradition and modernity and we hope the festival will portray this diversity of our ethnicity in the best manner.”
