Mumbai: Two-day Ama Utkarsha Odisha festival in Mumbai from February 23. Ama Utkarsha Odisha is an interesting experimentation of human unity and brother hood to celebrate odianess by the people, of the people and for the people residing in Mumbai.

This program is conceptualized, designed and prepared through crowd sourcing method. Despite of many obstacles and resource crunch, odia people in Mumbai are able to pull together a cultural extravangaza for Odia community without Government and Political intervention.

2 days extravangaza on 23 rd /24 th February would have eminent artists, folk dancers, singers from different parts of Odisha. Some of the interesting features include Gotipua dance, Jodi Sankha, Sambalpuri Dance and many more. Interesting concept like sand art, save the nature initiatives like felicitation using tree sapling and recycling of waste are some of the high points of the event. More than 50000 odia gathering expected over 2 days cultural festival and program
would be inaugurated by Her Excellency, Governor of Jharkhand Smt Draupadi Murmu.
Organising team which consists of eminent people from Mumbai have taken utmost care to provide all comforts to crowd have experimented with some interesting crowd handling concept. When we asked one of the organizer about the event; he gave an interesting analogy “Madhubabu created Utkala Sammelani to awaken a race before 8 decades and Ama Utkarsha Odisha is created to awaken cultural might of the race”

The residents of Mumbai can enjoy authentic Odia cuisine in the form of popular street foods, exotic sweets, pickles and traditional Odia thali. The event will be a shoppers’ paradise offering world famous Odishi sarees, attractive handloom dress materials, bed sheets, kurtas, lungis, jute products etc. besides offering intricately designed handcrafted silver and dhokra jewellery, Odisha’s famous appliqué work, wood craft products and beautiful paintings using sea shells from the beaches of Puri.

More than 50000 people are expected to attend the Ama Utkarsha Odisha festival on the two-day extravaganza .
