Training programme for Literacy volunteers and Prerak held at Tikabali

Kandhamal : A training programme for Preraks and Literacy Volunteers of Tikabali block   has organsied at Teachers’ Training Institute, Tikabali , Phulabani .  Mr.  Laxmidhar Behera, Addl. District Education Officer, Mr. Kartikeswar Lenka, Addl. District Education Officer, Mr. Lokanath Panda, Programme Coordinator, SRC (Agragamee), Rayagada  act as a resource person for the training programme.  In the training programme 22 prerak from 11 panchayat, 40 Education volunteers from all the panchayat attend the training programme.
In the inaugural speech, Mr.  Laxmidhar Behera, Addl. District Education Officer, and in-Charge of Block Education Officer, Kandhamal  call for renaissance by educating the non-literate of Tikabali block. He shared that  illiteracy and poverty is the two social evil.  Only through enhancement of literacy, these two evil will be irradiated.  He shared only through mission spirit and volunteerism, illiteracy will be eradicated.
Mr. Lokanath Panda, Programme Coordinator, State Resource Centre for Adult Education, Rayagada  share about Saakshar Bharat programme and its main objectives to empower women and backward community through functional literacy and financial literacy, legal literacy and literate about government social welfare schemes.  The main objective of the Saakshar Bharat Programme is to establish a literate society and empowerment of women through literacy. Only by strengthening  of Adult Education Centre at Panchayat level, it will be achieved and disadvantaged women groups will be empowered.
Mr. Kartikeswar Lenka, Addl. District Education Officer, In-charge of Saakhsar Bharat Programme of Kandhamal District spoke about different aspect running of Literacy Programme.  He call  to Prerak, who are in charge of enhance literacy in the panchayat level, to encourage more and more persons to promote to attend in the coming literacy assessment test which will be held all over India on 19th March.  Mr. Lenka shared that  300 preraks and 1000 education volunteers  already taken orientation training conducted by Ziila Saaksharata Samiti organized at block point on the Saakshar Bharat programme  to enhance literacy level of Kandhamal district.  At end, Ms. Sangita Sahoo, Block Coordinator, coordinate the programme proposed thanks to the participants and resource persons for organizing such a training programme to enhance capacity building of education volunteers and preraks.
