Bhubaneswar: TP Central Odisha Distribution Ltd. (TPCODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, is always committed towards women empowerment by implementing various programmes for women living in and around its areas of operation. In line with this objective TPCODL celebrated International Women’s day in all its circles along with corporate office on 8th March. More than 250 women employees participated in this celebration across all the circles.
The aim behind the celebration was to bring together all women to a common platform to share their thoughts and to inspire them through the motivational speakers of Orissa on this year Women’s day theme “Choose to Challenge”. The eminent motivational speakers and chief guests for this event were Dr.Sruti Mohaptra, Social activists, Founder of Swabhiman and Anjali at Corporate office, Mrs Ananya Das, IAS, Commissioner CMC at Cuttack Circle, Mrs Sasmitha Nath, Hon’ble Member, DCRC and Social activist for Circle-1, Mrs Madhumeeta Das, Retd Vice Chancellor, North Orissa for Circle 2, Mrs Namita Barik, Additional Tahsildar(OAS-1) and Miss Ankita Anindita, Asst Collector, Kendrapara for Paradeep Circle and Ms Bibharani Patra, Mountaineer and Ms Deeptimayee Lenka, social activist for Dhenkanal Circle.
During her inspiring speech Dr.Sruti Mohapatra has focused on four major points. She advised to focus on the solutions and not the problems, believe in ourselves, channelize our anger in a constructive way and do not allow anyone to define success for us”.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr M. Shenbagam, Chief Executive Officer, TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited said, “Since women play a major role in all walks of life, TPCODL will always try to create platforms that will encourage and empower women to be independent on the financial as well as social levels.”
