Technology Business Incubator will Create Entrepreneurship: Vice Chancellor,Fakir Mohan University

Balasore: Application of Science and Technology combined with local traditional knowledge will be very useful not only for the growth and development of the state but also preserve and propagate our culture. During the last two decades the world has moved much faster and technology has changed the lives of the people. The information is at your finger tips. The desire, expectation and aspirations of the students and youth need to be addressed. Everybody needs a job and government cannot provide jobs to everybody. “Therefore, we in the University and colleges need to take pro-active steps to create job opportunities. Entrepreneurship development is the need of the hour” said Prof. Dinabandhu Sahoo, Vice Chancellor, Fakir Mohan University, Odisha, while inaugurating a new initiative “ Brewing Entrepreneurship” in collaboration with KIIT-TBI, Bhubaneswar & Start Up Odisha.

Sahoo said we need change makers who will be catalysts for change. He urged the students to think out of box, take risks and go for innovations. University and educational institutions are the best place to nurture new ideas and can help in developing entrepreneurship. “Very soon a Technology Business incubator (TBI) will be established in F.M University Campus for this and we will collaborate with Start Up Odisha and KIIT-TBI to move forward” said the Vice Chancellor.

Dr.Mrutyunjay Suar, CEO of KIIT-TBI, Bhubaneswar said job creation and thinking beyond the traditional way is the need of the hour. KIIT-TBI with its vast experience and success over the years will extend all help and collaborate to promote entrepreneurship in the state. Mr. Prasanta Biswal, from Start Up Odisha emphasized that there are several start up companies who have been supported by the State and we will support F.M University in promoting Start Ups. Dr.Mrutyunjay Sahu, Co-founder of a Start-Up company in Odisha said how he struggled initially but today he is a job giver. Dr.Padmalita Routray from, Management Department and In-Charge Placement Cell, said women entrepreneurship is very important. Students and Faculty members said the programme is very refreshing and beyond the class room studies. More such programmes should be organized.
