Team Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation’s massive deployment of sanitation workers & machines to clear debris

Bhubaneswar: With the relief and city rebuilding operations in full swing across the State Capital, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has geared up with a massive deployment of its men and machines with the Engineering Wing taking the lead, followed by four sanitation agencies working overtime to make the city clean once again, as the entire green cover was damaged beyond recognition following the attack of severe cyclonic storm Fani, on May 3.
While the Engineering Wing has deployed 25 Haiwa trucks, 16 JCBs and 30 tractors to clean up the debris in 10 wards of BMC for the sanitation management in addition to BMC’s own 25 tractors, the other four sanitation agencies have deployed 30 JCBs, 55 tippers, 10 Haiwas, 100 tractors, 18 compactors, 10 dumper presser and 23 auto-rickshaw tippers.
Similarly, in the manpower front, the BMC has deployed 445 sanitation workers in its 10 wards and the four agencies, Jagruti, PMR, Ramkay and Lion (mechanical sweeping) have combinedly deployed 2306 people for the cleaning work in their 57 wards. While Jagruti has deployed 1,285 sanitation workers, PMR has deployed 440, Ramkay 516 and Lion 65 to carry out their work in the respective localities.
While almost all city roads have been cleared and the green garbage is being transported to the temporary transit station, the citizens have congratulated the civic body in conducting its responsibilities in a smooth way.
