Tata Steel FAMD bags 6 safety awards from DOFB, Odisha

 

Bhubaneswar, March 10, 2018: Directorate of Factory and Boilers (DOFB), Government of Odisha has conferred 6 safety awards on Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division, (FAMD), Tata Steel today at a function held here. Shri Susanta Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State Energy and Labour & Employee’ State Insurance Corporation Department of Government of Odisha gave the awards in presence of Smt. Anu Garg, Principal Secretary, Labour and ESI Department, Government of Odisha, Shri Kamalendu Mohapatra, Director of Factories and Boilers, Odisha and Shri Malay Kumar Pradhan, Dy. Director of Factories and Boilers (Safety) Government of Odisha and other dignitaries.

Tata Steel’s Ferro Alloys Plant (FAP) at Joda in Keonjhar district received first prize for Lowest Weighted Frequency Rate of Accident for 2014 and for Lowest Severity Rate of Accident for 2015 and 2nd prize for Lowest Severity Rate of Accident for the year 2016. ”

Similarly Tata Steel’s Ferro Alloys Plant (FAP) at Bamnipal in Keonjhar district bagged first prize for Lowest Weighted Frequency Rate of Accident for 2015 and second prize for Lowest Accident Free Period in 2016, and first prize for Lowest Severity Rate of Accident for 2017.

Shri G P Sahu, Head, FAP, Tata Steel, Joda and Shir Umesh Kumar Ratha, Head, FAP, Bamnipal, Tata Steel received the awards on behalf of the company.

Speaking on the awards Shri R R Satpathy, General Manager, Operations, FAMD said, “as a responsible corporate Tata Steel has always given utmost priority to safety aspects in its operations and these awards vindicate it”.
