Tata Steel celebrates 181st Founder’s Day at Joda

Joda: Joda unit of Tata Steel’s OMQ Division celebrated Founder’s Day on March 3, 2020, marking the 181st birth anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata.
The day-long celebrations at Joda started early in the day with a ‘Prabhat Pheri’ by School children in the Joda West campus that concluded at JCO office premises where the employees paid homage to JN Tata under the leadership of Mr Rajesh Kumar, Chief (Joda), Tata Steel. Among others present on the occasion were senior officials of Tata Steel and Union officials.
After the homage ceremony, sweets were distributed to the patients of Tata Steel Hospital, Joda by the hospital officials.
On the occasion, various sporting events were organized at Vocational Training Centre Ground, Joda West for the employees of JCO and Khondbond Iron Mine. For employees of Joda East Iron Mine, similar sporting events were scheduled at Haati Park, Joda East in the later half of the day. The winners of the competitions were felicitated by the dignitaries.
Apart from this, illumination of Sir Dorabji Tata Botanical Park, Joda West along with Centenary Park, in front of FAP Plant and Rainwater harvesting Park, Joda East were also done.
It is worth mentioning here that Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata (March 3, 1839 – May 19, 1904) was an Indian pioneer industrialist, who founded the Tata Group, India’s biggest conglomerate company. He is regarded as the legendary ‘Father of Indian Industry’.
