Narendrapur: Tata Steel BSL added another feather to its cap by winning the coveted Golden Peacock Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the year 2020 in Steel industry category. The award is the recognition of the exemplary work the steel major has been doing for the community while demonstrating its commitment to the cause.
The company was adjudged as the winner by the New Delhi based Golden Peacock Awards Jury under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Justice M. N. Venkatachaliah, former Chief Justice of India and former Chairman, National Human Rights Commission of India and National Commission to review the working of the Constitution. Tata Steel BSL was selected from over 119 shortlisted applicants for final selection through a 3-tier assessment process.
Expressing his happiness on the award, Mr Subodh Pandey, Chief Operating Officer, Tata Steel BSL said, “We are honoured to receive this coveted award which will further inspire us to continue to work for the community. We are committed to bring transformation in the life of the people around our operating units across locations and promote inclusive growth through innovative sustainable socio-economic interventions, he added”.
Along with providing support to the community during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the steel major has been working in the field of education, health care, rural infrastructure,
women empowerment, livelihood, youth engagement and sports, environment through Green School Project and plantation and touched the life of more than 40,000 population across its operating locations.
