Tata Motors registered a volume growth of 46% in Odisha in H1 FY 19

Bhubaneswar: Tata Motors embarked on a turnaround journey last year with Turnaround 1.0 with a clear focus on sales enhancement, rigorous cost reduction, customer centricity and timely product launches to increase the CV volumes, market share growth and bottom-line improvement. This yield great results and in FY 17 -18, while the industry grew at 21%, we grew at 23% outpacing the industry thereby growing market share, bucking the trend of the past few years. This was achieved on the back of newly launched products, superior performance of BS IV products, improved stakeholder engagement and aggressive market activation, wide array of after sales support activities, well complemented at back end by steep ramp-up of production and rigorous cost reduction initiatives.
In Orissa, Tata Motors has registered a volume growth of 46% in H1 FY19 over last year. This was driven on the back of new product launches, coupled with deeper stakeholder engagement and will continue to drive volumes and market share in the East India in FY 19.
Tata Motors Performance – East India & Orrisa Market Share: • Currently, Tata Motors’ market share for Commercial Vehicle in India stands at 45%. • In the East, the company has a dominant CV market share of 57%, with major growth coming from the MHCV segment. • In Orissa Tata Motors has improved the overall market shares by 3 % , with SCV Cargo and Pickup having gained 6% market share and CV Passenger segment gaining 4 %
Sales & Volume:• In East, Tata Motors clocked a sales volume growth of 51% y-o-y over the last year H1 FY19 (April – September 2018) and sold 52,511 units. While the Total Industry Volume in East for the same period is 44%, i.e. 92,194 units. • In Orissa, Tata Motors has registered a volume growth of 46% in H1 FY19 over last year.
Segment Performance:• In the East, with distinguished performance and attributes of BSIV range of Tata Motors vehicles we have strengthened our leadership position in the MHCV range. MHCV trucks registered the highest growth of 72% in H1FY19 over last year. Orissa being the hub of the mining industry, our Prima range of vehicles are doing really well in mining areas given their rugged performance and stronger aggregates.
• Driven by high demand in construction, e-commerce and cement segments, bolstered by strong acceptance of the newly launched Ultra range of vehicles, ILCV trucks registered a growth of 31% in the East. Ultra 1518 and newly Launched Ultra 1412 have found strong acceptance due to its better mileage, rugged aggregates and superior cabin comfort.
• With sales volume increasing by 41%, Tata Motors is a leading player in the SCV cargo and pickups segment in East. With the launch of XL series of vehicles, customers are realising higher operating profits. Our dynamic pick-up Yodha has been a huge success amongst customers for its superior KMPL, driving comfort and better attributes; thus significantly contributing to the overall sales volume of the pick-up segment .and is becoming preferred choice for pick up customers.  Moreover, the launch of Tata Ace Gold has bolstered the SCV growth.
o In the Bus segment, Tata Motors witnessed a growth of 21% in H1 FY19 over the last year. With the launch of new variants in Winger, Tata Motors has created a new benchmark in the passenger comfort area, thus strengthening its presence in tour & travel, staff and school segments. With Magna and Ultra range of buses, TML is strengthening its presence in staff and stage carriage passenger transportation.
