Tata Football Academy Coach to Train 65 Young Footballers of Odisha at Sukinda

Sukinda: 65 young footballers from villages around Sukinda Chromite Mine (SCM) of Tata Steel have joined a specialized football training camp conducted by Mr Ashok Tudu, ace coach of Tata Football Academy( TFA), Jamshedpur. The camp, organized by SCM of Tata Steel was kicked off today at its central playground.

35 boys under the age of 14 years and 30 under 16 years from villages like KP Nagara, Kakudia, Bhalutangar, Patena, Kumardih, Purijhar, Kaliapani, etc under Sukinda block in Jajpur district have been selected for the 15-day camp, from among hundreds of students in a 3-day long screening session. The training camp will continue till April 26, 2017.

Mr Tudu, with more than 25 years of coaching experience will teach basics of the game like controlling, dribbling, speeding, receiving, passing, etc. to junior players and advanced techniques like ball movement, attack, defend, cross and finish to the senior players.

Children in the camp are very happy with such an experienced coach, who has represented Bihar and Jharkhand at national level and India junior and senior teams at international level. Along with techniques on football, Mr Tudu will also focus on physical and mental training of the youngsters.

In order to promote football in the region along with other sports, Tata Steel Sukinda Chromite Mine has been running several training camps for young footballers in and around Sukinda. Apart from organizing a village level football tournament each year at Sukinda, similar arrangements are also made for imparting better training to local players by TFA coaches in regular intervals.
