Report by Kahnu Nanda, Jagatsinghpur: The SVM College issuance of fake certificates row virtually ended on Saturday, as many as 124 Ex-students those had given fake certificates and registration numbers from them 121 students certificates were corrected following efforts of college principal, college governing body and Utkal University authority.
Report said that the victim 124 students who graduated from the college in the year 2015 had been given fake certificates and university registration numbers by college authority as consequence they had denied migration certificates from Utkal University became unable to pursue higher studies.
Protesting the event the victim students had resorted agitation in front of college premises several times, on 11 January students comprising their parents and guardians had participated in stir demanding issue of original valid certificates.
Acting on the event college principal Nitarani Kar and governing body president MLA Bishnu Das had approached agitating students and assured them to resolve their crisis shortly, then the agitation was called off.
Principal Kar informed that the crux of problem had started when these 124 students were taken admission in plus three streams beyond its affiliated 256 seats for college. She did not bother about the irregularities as she was not principal of the college that time, besides that looking future of the students she had taken efforts correcting her predecessor’s mistake, principal informed.
At first stage she had approached Utkal university authority and state higher education department describing the facts as consequence higher education department conducted a probe found the then admission in charge and two techno staff of the college were guilty admitting more students beyond capacity.
The probe had directed disciplinary action against these people. Meanwhile two technical staff computer data entry operators service have been dismissed and admission in charge lecturer Dhiren Mohanty salary has been stopped and a show cause notice has been issued against him complying the facts, Principal revealed.
On the other hand Utkal University authority patently considered plights of the victim students and asked them to register their names a fresh in university. The process of fresh registration had completed by the students along with furnishing their plus two college leaving certificates before university. Out of 124 ill-fated students from them 121 students fulfilled University requirements as consequence they had given university registration numbers and corrected certificates, on Saturday Principal informed.
After obtaining corrected certificate and university registration number students have expressed happiness and all kudos go to our dynamic principal Nitarani Kar, following her sincere and committed efforts we got new birth and corrected our graduate certificates, informed a victim student Subhasis Tripathy.
