Report by Kahnu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: Former students of SVM College staged Dharana demanding original Plus Three provisional and migration certificates from the authorities on Thursday.
The agitators, comprising students who graduated from the college in the year 2013- 2018, alleged that the authorities had issued fake certificates to them due to which they were unable to pursue higher studies.
“The certificates which were issued to us had fake registration numbers. We had gone to Utkal University for migration certificates but the officials there told us that the registration numbers were fake,” said one of the agitator Subhasis Tripathy. .
Two months back the victim students had resorted an agitation seeking their original certificates including migration and university registration number, the authorities had assured providing it forthwith but till date nothing happened, rued another agitator.
Action should be taken against those who issued fake certificates. As many as 124 students had passed the degree examination from the college in the 2013-18 education year.
Principal of SVM College Nitarani Kar said when these students took admission in 2013-18, he was not in charge. Then principal of the college admitted more students than the number of seats which led to this situation.
I have sought intervention of the Utkal University authority, it has appeared a time taking process regularizing these students for issuing migration and registration numbers under Utkal University so I request students please wait few more days obtaining their certificates, she said.
While sources informed that till filing of report the student’s agitation was underway in SVM College premises, the agitators have declined to withdraw the stir until fulfillment of their demands.
