Suresh Raina bats for clean India

New Delhi: International cricketer Suresh Raina launched ‘Mera Uttar Swachh Pradesh’ campaign to create awareness about cleanliness in Uttar Pradesh. Through this year-long campaign, Raina has urged people to support him for a cleaner and better India.

The cricketer, who is already an ambassador for the Swachh Bharat Mission believes in the younger generation. He aims to visit the State and form his own army of youth who will help in creating awareness and consciousness towards the surroundings to inculcate the attitude of cleanliness in others. In order to achieve the targets of Swachh Bharat, Raina has also been posting videos to appeal the masses to join him in this constructive initiative and make his very own Uttar Pradesh cleaner and better.

Talking about the campaign, Raina said, “I consider this as extra inning. Yet it is different this time. The pitch is bigger, the challenge is tougher and I am going to go out there and build a team of young Indians who will join hands to accomplish the goal of Swachh Bharat.”

Raina is known for his contribution towards other social issues like sanitation, maternal and child health etc. In 2017, Raina along with his wife Priyanka Chaudhary Raina, founded the Gracia Raina Foundation which has been providing free health care to women and children through OPD on wheels’ programs and awareness workshops for adolescents and maternal health. Beside these health programs he is also funding education for underprivileged girls in Uttar Pradesh as an over all developmental model
