Supreme Court-appointed Amicus Curiae to visit Puri for two days on February 22, 23

Bhubaneswar: Supreme Court-appointed Amicus Curiae for reforms in the Lord Jagannath Temple and former Solicitor General Ranjit Kumar is scheduled to visit Puri for two days on February 22 and 23.

During his visit, the senior lawyer will hold discussions with officials of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), the Temple Managing Committee, the Puri Gajapati Maharaja and servitors on implementation of the reform proposals suggested by the apex court.

Kumar would later submit a report in this regard to the Supreme Court. The apex court has also sought a report from the State Government and the SJTA on the steps taken based on the Puri District Judge’s suggestions for Shreemandir reforms.
