State level YRC camp for Girl Volunteers organised by Youth Red Cross, Odisha

 

Bhubaneswar: Youth Red Cross Unit of Indian Red Cross Society-Odisha State Branch is being organised a State level YRC camp for Girl Volunteers from 28th to 30th March, 2017 at Ramadevi University, Bhubaneswar. The main objective of the camp is to explore the confidence of the Girl Volunteers and make them guide and mentor and helping them to develop their skills and confidence that will last a lifetime. In this Training Camp more than ……….Youth Red Cross Girl Volunteers from different Districts of Odisha were participating.

During the camp the volunteers will be trained on various topics like History of Red Cross Movement, Fundamental Principles, First Aid, HIV/AIDS, Health & Hygiene, Voluntary Blood Donation, Road Safety and Leadership & Yoga. Various competitions will also be organized during the camp to harness the literary potentiality of the Youth Red Cross volunteers.

Hon’ble Minister Higher Education, Science & Technology, R &D Dr. Pradip Kumar Panigrahi inaugurated the 3 days training camp as Chief Guest and expressed that the girl volunteers are the future leaders not only by the qualities and skills one has, but also by how those qualities and skills are used to make a difference in the world.

Vice-Chancellor of Ramadevi University Prof. Dr. Padmaja Mishra joined as Guest of Honour and said that as a volunteer, you all will introduce yourself with new experiences in this camp and after learnings from this camp show your capabilities to the society more than ever imagined.

Dr. Gyanabrata Mohanty, Honorary Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch(IRCS-OSB) and Secretary, Youth Red Cross extended a warm welcome to all the guests & participants and said the life skills of the Youth Red Cross girl Volunteers will learn from the camp should be utilised for the society.

Dr. Maj. Kalpana Das, Youth Red Cross Officer shared the objectives of the camp and inspired the girl volunteers not to wait for any miracle, but to be the source hope & happiness in the society. Sri Gopal Krushna Mishra, YRC Counsellor coordinated the programme and YRC Counsellor Sri Susil Kumar Pattanaik offered vote thanks at the end of the programme.
