State Conclave-cum-Exhibition under National SC-ST Hub & other coinciding events at Bhubaneswar on 30-08-2018

Bhubaneswar: National SC/ST Hub (NSSH) Scheme of Ministry of MSME, Government of India was launched in 2016 by the Hon’ble Prime Minster with an objective to create a supportive ecosystem for SC/ST entrepreneurs by assisting in capacity building thereby enabling them to effectively participate in public procurement processes. The Ministry has also launched a portal namely “MSME Sambandh” in December, 2017 in order to monitor procurement by CPSUs and also share list of required products/services with MSEs.

In Odisha, with 40% of its population being SC/ST, an SC-ST Conclave cum Exhibition is being organized on 30-08-2018 at Mancheswar Industrial Estate, Bhubaneswar wherein CPSEs, Banks, Industry Associations and various other agencies of Central & State Government have been invited. The purpose is to share information on items / services that they could procure from SC/ST MSEs, create awareness of schemes like MUDRA, Stand-up India, CGTMSE etc. and various other benefits for capacity building of young men and women from SC/ST community. It’s a first of its kind in Conclave in Odisha.

NSIC has built its largest office building in eastern India, 3-star GRIHA rated green buildings (G+7 storied) in the eastern part of India having a built up area of approx. 1,10,000 sq. ft. at Mancheswar Industrial Area, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. This building will be inaugurated during the event. It will be having offices of various agencies like NSDC, NSTI and others which will be working with NSIC for providing integrated support to various MSMEs including from SC/ST community. It will also have NSIC’s National SC-ST Hub Office (NSSHO).

The state of Odisha has been providing skilled manpower to leading textile clusters in India such as Tirupur, Tamil Nadu. NSIC’s Apparel Training Centre for Textile Sector in the IMDC building will also be inaugurated wherein training will be imparted to men and women as a part of the handholding for creating employment and self-employment opportunities in Odisha.

 

An MOU between NSIC, Rourkela Steel Plant and National Schedule Tribe Finance Development Corporation will be signed for setting up of Livelihood Business Incubator at Rourkela for transforming the tribal youth from “unemployed” to “self-employed” in different trades, thus creating more job opportunities in Odisha.

NSIC will be signing an MoU with SAP to create future ready workforce through providing access to the knowledge of innovative enterprise IT solutions.

Chief Minister of Odisha has been invited to grace the occasion. Sh. Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Sh. Jual Oram, Hon’ble Minister of Tribal Affairs and Sh. Giriraj Singh, Hon’ble MoS (IC) for Ministry of MSME will be gracing the occasion. State Ministers of MSME, SC & ST have also been invited to grace the occasion. Senior officials from the Ministry of MSME, GOI, State Government of Odisha, CPSEs, State PSEs and Banks would be present in the events. Around 1500 SC/ST entrepreneurs and youth including women are expected to participate in the Conclave.
