Bhubaneswar: Staarmakers, the company that brought a Femina pageant to Bhubaneswar for the first time in 2015 by hosting the Femina Miss Odisha India in the capital, launched its new fashion series called ‘Spotlight’ on December 3rd at Bocca Café in Bhubaneswar.
Spotlight is an endeavour to start a new fashion culture in the city through a series of theme-based fashion shows, which will give a platform to new talents in modelling and designing fraternity while showcasing fashion in a new light. Since 2015, Staarmakers has been promoting young talents in the world of fashion and glamour, helping them to become stars and shine! The winner of Femina Miss Odisha India pageant, Priyanka Gupta, had got a direct entry to Femina Miss India East in Kolkata due to the association of Staarmakers and Femina.
Staarmakers has been an integral part in the journey of Sonika Roy, Miss India Asia Pacific International 2017 and Christeena Biju, Miss India Odisha 2017 who also attended the event.
The first in the series of Spotlight witnessed fashion promoting the concept of peace, through three elements – Yoga, Love & Compassion and Spirituality. This series will make an attempt, to give out a relevant message through fashion every time. And, with Bhubaneswar being home to quite a few fashion institutes, this series will also try to rope in new talents, every time, be it on the ramp or behind.

Sahil Kandoi, a spiritual youth Leader and Director of Kandoi Roadlines Pvt Ltd. who passionately founded Awakened Youths – an organisation to encourage youths into Meditation & Spirituality through their Passion and Unique Expressions, Soumya Dash, yoga instructor who has done both national and international course from Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhan Sansthaan and runs her own yoga centre in Forest Park and Sidharth Mohanty, who is a professional designer and contemporary dancer/ choreographer with more than 12 years of industry experience and has also been working towards development of art, design and culture through creative collaborations with various artists around the globe and through community driven projects. The entire show was choreographed by John from Addiction, a leading fashion management institute in the state and also an associate partner for the event.
All the models, many of whom walked the ramp for the first time, were given the perfect look by leading salon, Headturners, Chandrasekharpur. All these outfits were designed by Vooz, giving a platform to an emerging designer Biswat Sen.
Leading urban designer label store Soch & leading Realestate Kingston residency also extended support to the event.
